The Human Genome Project
This 8 page paper discusses the Human Genome Project, a multinational venture into human genetics. The Human Genome Program is the U.S. component of the project and also the largest. Funded by DOA and NIH, the project originally scheduled to last 15 years has been cut to 13 years due to the remarkable advances made since its implementation. This essay presents an overview of the project, goals, some of the accomplishments to date, the potential benefits of this massive project and some of the risks that are posed by it.
