Saint Thomas Aquinas (1224-1274)
A 20 page paper that consists of four sections: Biography, Historical Context, Ethical Concerns, and Contributions, Influence and Application. The biographical sketch includes Aquinas' birth, education, his choices and what his family did, his activities as a Dominican and other information and, finally, his death. The writer includes comments on why Thomas suddenly stopped writing. The essay then discusses the historical, political and religious context in which Aquinas was born, studied and worked, including some of the conflicts at the time. The essay discusses how Thomas perceived human acts and the criteria for goodness. The section on his contributions and influence briefly describes his Summa Theologica as well as his influence during his life and today, such as the unity he brought to the Church.
