The October 13, 1972 Airplane Crash in the Andes Mountains – 16 Members of a College Rugby Team Survived
This 5 page report discusses the members of an Uruguayan college rugby team, who had been on board the plane that flew into the side of a mountain at 11,500 feet and survived for 72 days before they were rescued. They survived by eating the frozen corpses of their teammates. A best-selling book (1972) and a movie (1993) were made about the ordeal.
