Andrew M. Greeley/Religious Change in America
A 5 page analysis of Andrew Greeley's book on recent changes in religious observance in American society. One of the pervading messages that is found in the media is that the US has become a less religiously oriented society. Frequently, one hears leaders advocating "family values" and a return to the religious and moral orientation of earlier years. This, of course, implies that most Americans have strayed from such standards. In his book, Greeley differs with this assessment. Greeley argues that the huge amount of change indicated in the media simply hasn't taken place and his statistics show that, in fact, religious observance in the country is still strong and stable.
