Local Area Networks (LANs) & OSI Model Layer Construction
Local Area Networks, or LANs, are computer networks or basic data communications networks which are usually created out of a distinct class of networking equipment which is specifically tailored for communication over short distances. LANs are based on the OSI model layer construction that was initially created in 1983 and became a central component of the infrastructures of computer information systems.
