Women and Rape, Two Opinions
This 5 page report discusses the issue of rape in modern society from the perspective of two writers, both women and both university professors. Helene Shugart asserts that asserts that that patriarchy is the theory and rape is the practice. Renee Heberle questions whether there is a fundamental fragileness in male dominance that has been obscured by the construction of a political strategy designed to call attention to women’s suffering and therefore, further reinforces the attitudes of masculine-based domination.
