The Heart of Darkness vs. Apocalypse Now
A 3 page paper which discusses the similarities and differences between the character of Marlow in “The Heart of Darkness,” by Joseph Conrad and the character of Willard in the movie “Apocalypse Now,” which was based on Conrad’s
book. For the most part these men are very similar though in a very essential sense they are very different. The character of Marlow appears to be much more mentally stable than does the character of Willard who often appears very confused and disturbed. The similarities involve their desire to find answers to questions and their persistence in doing so. No additional sources cited.
