History of Special Education

An 8 page research paper that relates the history of special education. The structure of this history of special education first looks at the field earliest beginnings, which addresses how early special education innovators developed this field. However, the reality of history is also that there was resistance to the very idea of special education for severely mentally handicapped children and this is also addressed before moving on to the recent history of special education in the US and conclusions.
