Archbishop Oscar Romero: Overview
3 pages in length. Considered one of the greatest martyrs for the benefit of mankind, Archbishop Oscar Romero ultimately sacrificed his life so that his voice could speak for the less fortunate. Romero knew all along that his very presence epitomized controversy, a reality he understood would one day cost him his life; however, this fact never slowed down his efforts to improve life for the Salvadoran people. All he wanted was for mankind to be more humane, for the fierce warriors of the contemporary global society to abandon their arms in exchange for mutual brotherhood and for people to learn to live with and respect each other. And for these aspirations to which he dedicated his entire being, he ended up paying the highest price. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
