Virginian Women in the Post Civil War Years
A 6 page discussion of the importance of the role of women in the years following the Civil War. Noting that the while voices of the wealthier married women were more likely to be heard than those of the lower classes, this paper emphasizes that women played a critical role in this time period. This time period was marked, in fact, not only in terms of the societal accomplishments credited to women, but also in terms of women establishing equal societal footing with men.
