Russia and France and the Constitutional Division of Powers
A 10 page discussion of the value of the Constitutional provision for separation of powers. The author contends that to understand the impact of this attempt at separation of power it becomes useful to look at a more long-standing example of such a separation, that of France. This task is further enabled with a comparison of the manner in which the U.K. differs in its approach to government. It can be contended that while the concept of separation of power is an integral component of a successful republic, that separation undergoes an evolutionary process which allows it to become more successful the longer it is in operation.
