A 14 page research paper. This paper has four parts: Post-traumatic stress disorder in which this disorder is described along with causes and psychological and physical effects and symptoms. The incidence of PTSD is also included. Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, as originated by Albert Ellis. The philosophy and foundation of the theory is explained as is the approach to patients. How REBT is used to help patients with post-traumatic stress disorder, including specific examples. The final section offers five recommendations for the study of combining other cognitive behavior therapies with REBT for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. Bibliography lists 13 sources.
