Willa Cather's "My Antonia": Images Of Exile, Journey, Pilgrimage, Community, Belonging, Nature And Sensual Passion

5 pages in length. Willa Cather's "My Antonia" does a wonderful job of stressing the intrinsic connection between the concepts of biblical exile, journey and pilgrimage with that of depiction of community, a sense of belonging, a love of nature and sensual passion among people. It is obvious to the reader that -- in the author's story, at least -- one cannot and does not exist without the other. No additional sources cited.
