Dark Horse, Dark Legacy - James K. Polk & the Mexican-American War

A 15 page paper that argues the point that the policies and practices adopted by the Polk Administration in regard to the Mexican-American War were morally unethical and have resulted in strained relations between the countries of the United States and Mexico that can still be felt today. Discussed are the tactics employed by Polk to convince Congress to declare war against Mexico as well as the views of some that opposed those tactics. Also presented are examples of Mexico's current view of the United States and how this view reflects the events of the Mexican-American War. Bibliography lists 15 sources.
