Michelangelo Buonarroti: The Man, The Time and His Work
The
Renaissance encompassed the end of the medieval mindset and hailed the
transcendence of the Christian faith. It was a time when transformation
was heralded as progressive while still within the parameters of the
accepted principles of the Church and the ruling monarchy. This 15 page
paper argues that Michalangelo Buonarroti's life was not only on a par
with the circumstances of his time, it was also a clear demonstration of
the way in which political, social and religious structures have impact
on the lives of the people and the meaning instilled in the art and
architecture. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
